About Jonah

Jonah is the managing director of FloodTide Investments (Pvt.) Ltd., a Zimbabwean-based leadership development company. He sits on the board of the Information Technology and Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA) based in South Africa and previously served as a non-executive director for 8 years on the board of directors of Steward Bank in Zimbabwe.

In September 2007, Jonah was selected as one of ten Zimbabweans who received awards for the Ten Outstanding Young Zimbabweans organized by Junior Chamber International (JCI) in the personal improvement or accomplishment category.

Jonah had two columns in the Financial Gazette between 2002 and 2008. He has been running a weekly motivational radio programme on Zimbabwe's Star FM radio station since 2013. He has authored and published a life-changing motivational book entitled Success Unlimited. His works have also been published in the Zimbabwe Institute of Management quarterly Management News and in the Toastmasters International™ Magazine.

Jonah is the founding executive director of Empowered Life Trust, a non-profit making organization registered in 2016, that has provided entrepreneurial training to over 2,000 young Zimbabweans to date through a programme called Youth Entrepreneurship programme (YEP) sponsored by CBZ Holdings. Through his Teen Breakthrough programme, Jonah has been empowering teenagers and pre-teens with life skills since 2014.

In April 2003, he delivered a continuous 36-hour public speech in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Public Speech. He has toured and delivered presentations in many countries including South Africa, Zambia, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Uganda, USA and UK.

Jonah has facilitated workshops, provided training and keynote speeches to many organizations including Ernst and Young (Zimbabwe), USAID (Zimbabwe, Malawi and Southern Africa Regional Office), Old Mutual, British Council, FBC Bank, Total, South African Airways, UNDP, UNICEF, US Embassy in Zimbabwe, WK Kellogg Foundation (SA), Toyota Offices (USA), and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (USA).

He has over 20 years' experience of corporate management, mostly working for financial institutions, rising through the ranks to occupy the position of Executive Director before venturing out as an entrepreneur. Jonah holds a Bachelor of Business Studies Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe.
